The Rice County Board of Commissioners conducted interviews for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Following the interviews, a motion was made and approved to extend an offer to Catherine Piepho for the CFO position.

The agenda includes items related to human resources, public health, environmental services, finance, parks and facilities, the sheriff's office, and social services. Key discussion points involve the welcome of new employees and service awards, a dental hygiene service agreement with HealthFinders, a resolution authorizing Rice County to submit a grant application for a small community wastewater treatment program, the issuance and sale of general obligation capital equipment notes, courthouse security upgrades, a joint powers agreement with Dakota County South Metro SWAT, proclaiming a day for health and human services workers, and a consent agenda covering extra time/overtime reports, payment of bills, and personal appointments. Additionally, there was discussion regarding the creation of Circle Lake Improvement District.

The meeting included a public hearing and the adoption of RESOLUTION #18-01 for the conveyance of land pursuant to Minnesota Statute §469.029.

The agenda included discussion and review of the MnDOT District 6 Draft 10-Year Plan (2019-2028), a recycling loader replacement, disaster abatements, Rice County Summary of Interfund Transfers, performance measures, sponsorship of trails operated by Tri-County ATV Club, commitment of fund balances, and a joint powers agreement with DOC. The consent agenda covered payment of bills, extra time/over time report, personnel appointments, a Minnesota Lawful Gambling Premises Permit Application, and applications for retail sale of beer, liquor & tobacco.

The Rice County Board of Adjustment convened to discuss several variance requests. Approvals were granted for variances related to property line setbacks, lake setbacks, impervious surface limitations, road right of way setbacks, height limitations, and size limitations for various properties. These variances were for purposes such as replacing homes and constructing detached garages or storage buildings. Each variance was subject to specific conditions, including compliance with ordinance regulations, adherence to submitted plans, maintenance of vegetation, and obtaining necessary permits.
