The Rice County Transportation Plan provides a framework for developing the county's transportation system through the year 2025. This strategic plan for Rice County Parks, Recreation, and Open Space serves as a continuation of the 1992 Park System Plan, providing a specific strategy and vision for park system development. Its core purpose is to develop, manage, and promote parks and trails for passive and active recreation, while concurrently protecting and enhancing unique natural areas. Key strategic priorities involve implementing a comprehensive plan, fostering effective communication and community engagement, promoting awareness and utilization of facilities, establishing robust management plans for county-owned lands, securing sustainable funding strategies, safeguarding natural resources, developing accessible corridors and connections, and ensuring strong customer service to enhance the health, well-being, and overall quality of life for Rice County residents.

The Rice County Board of Commissioners conducted interviews for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Following the interviews, a motion was made and approved to extend an offer to Catherine Piepho for the CFO position.

The agenda includes items related to human resources, public health, environmental services, finance, parks and facilities, the sheriff's office, and social services. Key discussion points involve the welcome of new employees and service awards, a dental hygiene service agreement with HealthFinders, a resolution authorizing Rice County to submit a grant application for a small community wastewater treatment program, the issuance and sale of general obligation capital equipment notes, courthouse security upgrades, a joint powers agreement with Dakota County South Metro SWAT, proclaiming a day for health and human services workers, and a consent agenda covering extra time/overtime reports, payment of bills, and personal appointments. The meeting included a public hearing and the adoption of RESOLUTION #18-01 for the conveyance of land pursuant to Minnesota Statute §469.029.
