The commission formally approved the Engineering Technician Certified List and the Heavy Equipment Operator Certified List.

The commission meeting included the approval of the decertification and exhaustion of the Police Officer Certified List as well as the approval of the revised recruitment plan for Police Officers.

The Forward Urbandale Comprehensive Plan outlines a 20-year strategic vision for the growth of Urbandale, adopted in December 2023. The plan identifies long-range goals focused on key themes including environmental stewardship, fostering a welcoming community for all, and promoting community health and wellness. It targets specific focus areas such as Northpark/Plum, Douglas Parkway, and Downtown Urbandale, emphasizing economic development through revitalization, reinvestment in existing infrastructure, enhancing local attractions, and addressing investment barriers to encourage mixed-use and housing opportunities.
