The Commission held an election for the positions of Chair and Vice Chair. Legislative activity included a recommendation for the approval of an ordinance amendment regarding icebound lakes. A presentation was provided on the environmental impacts of neonicotinoid insecticides, with staff directed to investigate the Commission's regulatory authority. Additionally, the Commission discussed budget recommendations for the upcoming fiscal year, including input from public comment regarding aquatic plant management.

The committee reviewed and confirmed committee member representation, with future appointments to be sent to the County Executive. The meeting included the re-election of the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson. Presentations included an ethics training session. Committee reports covered hazardous material incidents, the status of HMEP grants, Hazmat exercise progress, updates on off-site emergency plans, and the pre-application for a hazardous response equipment grant. The meeting concluded with a review of the Hazardous Incident Team capabilities and a vehicle tour.

The subcommittee discussed the distribution and compliance tracking of ethics training for members. An update was provided on the APPR Pretrial Pathways technical assistance project, including work group activities such as analyzing failures to appear and updating the pretrial process map. A presentation on a jail summary was delivered, covering topics such as jail booking classifications, reasons for population increases in pre-arraignment or pretrial status, the impact of bail payments on initial appearance data, potential for regular reporting on jail indicators, and the challenges in identifying specific reasons for jail detention such as bench warrants.

The Commission conducted an ethics training session for county boards and commissions. Elections were held for the positions of Chair and Vice Chair, resulting in the appointment of Fran Puleo Moyer and Deshawn McKinney, respectively. The Executive Director's report included a discussion on potential commissioner recruitment. Additionally, the commission reviewed upcoming events supported by Dane Arts grants and provided information regarding future meeting schedules and planning for the 50th Anniversary. Members also engaged in discussions regarding the importance of civil dialogue and shared experiences from community-supported events.
