The Board of Trustees held a meeting to discuss various village matters. The Chamber of Commerce provided a report on upcoming events, and the Lynbrook/East Rockaway Girls Soccer Team was recognized for their championship. The board approved a request from the Lynbrook Engine Company #1 to place a recruitment sign and granted permission for Hose Company #1 to use the Fire Department Bus for their annual dinner. They also renewed approval for the South Shore Eruv Corp to establish Eruv boundaries and approved a request from Boomi Hungry Heroes to host an event at Greis Park. A public hearing was set for a proposed local law regarding the tax cap, and the 2025/2026 Tentative Budget Hearing date was set. The board approved Patriots Weekend festivities and amended a tax certiorari settlement schedule. They approved staffing actions, including rehiring a Neighborhood Aide, hiring a School Crossing Guard, and approving seasonal employees for the Recreation Department. An FMLA leave for the Court Clerk was approved, and the settlement of a claim against State Farm was authorized. The board also discussed recreation merchandise, sponsorship for the Turf Field, signage, temporary work at 47 Broadway, and the hiring of a Court Clerk. The Board discussed various topics including a report from the Chamber of Commerce, a proclamation for William Marinaccio, and a request from Eagle Scout Candidate Ryan Duggar. They accepted a donation of AED devices from the Lynbrook East Rockaway Soccer Club and proclaimed September as Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. Approvals were granted for a block party, a senior citizen club trip, and the Malverne Education & Fitness Foundation's annual 5K run. The board also approved the installation of a bulletin board at Greis Park, a maintenance agreement with Stryker, insurance renewals, and the purchase of desktop computers. Grant applications were ratified, and new recreation staff were hired.
