Berks Career and Technology Center Joint Operating Committee Official Proceedings
The Joint Operating Committee meeting included an Executive Session to discuss personnel matters and the receipt of two bids for a 2018 or newer Backhoe. The committee approved the Financial Reports for several BCTC funds. New Business involved the approval of the first reading for seven BCTC policies, including the School Wellness Policy and Tuition Income Policy. Administrative reports covered upcoming student recognition events, projected enrollment increases, and various student activities, such as a grilled cheese competition and a field trip by Culinary Arts students. The Building/Insurance Committee report detailed approvals for significant capital expenditures totaling over $900,000 from Capital Reserves for boiler replacements, HVAC upgrades, and equipment purchases, including the awarding of a bid for a new Backhoe. Finally, several items were approved under 'Other Matters for Consideration,' including entering into an agreement with Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit for student information systems, approving the 2025-2026 Textbook/Supply Listing, approving the Use of Facilities Fee Schedule, and authorizing attendance at various conferences and trips.
