The Plan Mauldin: Comprehensive Plan outlines the City of Mauldin's vision for a vibrant and sustainable community with a thriving city center, dynamic cultural and recreational amenities, and livable neighborhoods that connect people, culture, and opportunities. The plan focuses on four major goal areas: guiding positive growth, creating vibrant and thriving centers, expanding cultural amenities, and connecting the community. It is intended to serve as a guide for making land use decisions, preparing ordinances, and developing capital improvement programs.

The Commission addressed several agenda items, including the final development plan for Phase 2 of the YMCA expansion, which was conditionally approved. Additionally, the Commission discussed and recommended approval for a text amendment to the zoning ordinance concerning mobile food sales at places of entertainment, as well as a text amendment regarding accessory dwelling units, which was recommended for approval with additional standards limiting the number of bathrooms.

The meeting included several presentations, including a proposal from the HRTHUDL Foundation to place AEDs in city parks, updates on opioid use prevention initiatives, and information from Rize Prevention regarding drug awareness. The City Administrator provided updates on upcoming local events, marketing opportunities for the Mauldin Theatre Company, and the initiation of the regional 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan. The Council approved funding for a voltage regulator at the Adams Glen pump station. Additionally, the Council held an executive session to discuss various projects and legal matters, subsequently voting to approve first reading amendments to ordinances 1065 and 1066 to adjust property transaction closing dates.
