California Tahoe Conservancy Resilience Plan 2026-2030
This Resilience Plan, published by the California Tahoe Conservancy, outlines a collaborative vision for restoring and enhancing the Upper Truckee River Watershed to ensure its long-term health and resilience, which is critical for Lake Tahoe. The plan focuses on multiple-benefit projects and acquisitions, including improving climate change resilience, protecting Lake Tahoe's clarity, preserving and enhancing habitat and biodiversity, capturing carbon, and removing environmentally harmful development. Key strategic areas involve river restoration, improving wildlife connectivity, expanding shared-use trails, enhancing public river access, and supporting Washoe Tribal leadership. The overarching goal is to achieve connectivity for people and wildlife, protect tribal assets, and provide refuge from climate change, thereby fulfilling the objectives of the Lake Tahoe Environmental Improvement Program and California initiatives.
