The board discussed several items, including a proclamation for the Director's 25 years of service, a financial review of operational and capital budget accounts, and a presentation from the Waltham Youth Football and Cheer league. The board approved a proposed road race for the Community Day Center and the FY 2027 budget, which included new personnel positions, grade changes, and adjustments to utility and maintenance line items. Additionally, staff training, summer hiring, and registration processes were reviewed.

The committee reviewed and recommended a grant application for the interior and exterior restoration of the Wellington House, accounting for potential asbestos remediation costs. The meeting also included voting on fiscal year 2026 tax revenue estimates and state trust fund distributions for various categories such as open space recreation, historical, and housing. The committee voted to extend the deadlines for twelve older projects and elected to close two other projects, transferring their remaining balances back to the CPA budget reserve accounts.

The commission held a public hearing regarding a notice of intent for a site redevelopment project involving wetland buffer zones and sediment removal from an intermittent stream. Key discussion topics included project design, storm water management, site restoration plans, and environmental compliance. Additionally, the commission reviewed correspondence regarding drought status and invasive species management, discussed a tree removal administrative approval policy, and scheduled upcoming site visits and an annual Conservation Trust Fund meeting.

The Commission conducted a demolition delay hearing for 79 Cherry Street and voted to place a one-year demolition delay on the property. Updates were provided regarding the restoration projects for Stonehurst and the Wellington House, the latter of which received approved Community Preservation Act funding. The Commission also discussed the Fernald site golf course study and authorized a quote for the production of a new tour brochure for the Boston Manufacturing Company Mill Village.

The council meeting addressed several zoning amendments, including the creation of new overlay districts for various parcels in the city. The Mayor requested appropriations for police body armor and disability services, as well as the acceptance of state grants and the potential acquisition of a building at 600 Main Street. Various license renewals and permits for tables and chairs on sidewalks were considered. Additionally, the finance committee recommended the approval of snow expense appropriations and the acceptance of various museum items, while other committees reviewed and recommended actions on secondhand dealer licenses, handicap resolutions, and departmental cost estimates. An extension of time for a project at 1265 Main Street was also noted as unfinished business.
