West Virginia Project Narrative 2026-2031
This document outlines the West Virginia Rural Health Transformation (WV RHT) Program, a strategic initiative aimed at significantly improving healthcare outcomes and fostering economic revitalization in West Virginia. The plan focuses on three core strategies: addressing health-related barriers to workforce participation, establishing WV as a center for rural health technology innovation, and improving access and sustainability within the healthcare system. It operationalizes these strategies through seven flagship initiatives covering connected care, transportation, workforce development, value-based care, health-to-prosperity pipelines, personal health acceleration, and health technology innovation. The overarching vision is to create a healthier, more productive workforce by 2031, expanding access to prevention, increasing labor-force participation, and building financially stable rural healthcare systems.
