The meeting included student presentations from Arlington High School on the Character Strong program and from Post Middle School on Earth Day and climate change. The Board accepted a donation from the Arlington Education Foundation for Spring 2019 mini-grants and reviewed a report of donations approved by the Superintendent in March 2019. The Arlington High School's School Improvement Plan was presented. The board discussed and approved a master lease agreement with Enterprise Fleet Management, Resolution 19-02 regarding a transfer of territory, Resolution 19-03 outlining the revised Merl McGuire Mayo Scholarship Fund Trust Guidelines, and the surplussing of retired band uniforms. There was a second reading and adoption of Board Policies 3141, 3244, 3413, 3414, 3416 and 3420, and a first reading of Board Policies 2163, 4500 and 6882. Updates were provided on the 2019-20 budget development and legislative matters.

The meeting included a student presentation from Haller Middle School about the NASA Science Camp. The board discussed and approved an inter-local agreement with the City of Arlington for a Community Garden. They also reviewed and approved warrants, a report of donations approved by the Superintendent, the Alternative Learning Experiences (ALE) Courses Annual Report & Policy Review, the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Program for 2018-2019, and the CTE Advisory Committee members. Additionally, the board approved the Instructional Materials and Programs Committee (IMPC) members for 2018-19 and a revised 2018-2019 School Calendar. They also had a first reading of several board policies and discussed proposed changes. The meeting went into executive session for consideration of a minimum price at which real estate will be offered for sale or lease.

The Arlington Public Schools Board of Directors held a special Zoom meeting to address several key issues. The board discussed and approved a new high school course, Global Studies, and a contract with School Data Solutions for a High School and Beyond Plan Bundle. Updates were provided on the district's COVID-19 response, including health, meals, childcare, distance learning, attendance, budget, and communication. The board also approved Resolution 20-03, which addresses the emergency waiver of high school graduation credits. Additionally, the Asset Preservation Program Report for 2019 and Capital Levy Update were shared. The board approved a construction management contract with Owyen Consulting and received a briefing on the 2020-21 budget development. The Superintendent reported on donations approved in March 2020, and the board conducted a first reading and immediate adoption of several board policies related to the COVID-19 emergency.

The meeting included the introduction of the new assistant principal at Pioneer Elementary. The board discussed the annual program compliance report, interscholastic activities report for the 2024-25 school year, and financial highlights of the current budget. They also reviewed summer programs from the 2023-24 school year and policy 3241 regarding student discipline and attendance. Additionally, the board conducted the second reading and adoption of board policy 2090 regarding program evaluation and board policy 5411 regarding staff vacations. The superintendent reported on bargaining efforts and upcoming professional development for staff. A legislative update was provided, and topics of general interest were shared by the board members.

The meeting included an introduction of new staff members. A presentation and activity video were shared, showcasing math students building a wave generator to visualize sine and cosine waves. The opening of Arlington schools for 2024-25 was discussed, highlighting staff training, community engagement, new hires, and completed maintenance/construction projects. The Superintendent reported on capital levy information presentations and a legislative update was given, with a reminder to review proposed bills and prioritize recommendations.
