The council discussed a proposed ordinance regarding utility rate adjustments, with staff outlining a four-year plan to balance operational costs and subsidies. Representatives from major local processing companies expressed strong opposition to the proposed rate increases, citing potential negative impacts on their operations and advocating for a vote delay to renegotiate agreements with better cost controls.
