The Village of Gowanda Board of Trustees meeting addressed several key areas. The board discussed a local law prohibiting unapproved camping or lodging in public places and considered NYSEG's offer to purchase the old ambulance building, approving an appraisal report for the property. A draft of the Rental Registration Law was approved, and a date was set for its consideration. The appointment of an alternate ZBA member was approved. The board also approved WWTP pay applications to STC Construction, a request for proposals for the Big Trash Pickup 2026, and a Corporate Authorization Resolution to add Mark Nephew as an authorized signer on Village accounts. Budget modification requests were approved, along with abstract bills for General, Water, Sewer, and Capital Projects. Additionally, the annual snow stock piling agreement with Caleres was approved. The board discussed and approved the WWTP Digestor clean out for repair and an event application for the Festival of the Passing of the Ice Dragon. Lastly, Chase Bolen was approved as a roller skating attendant.

The special meeting was convened to discuss and approve the Gowanda Chamber Event application for Christmas in Gowanda.

A business permit was approved for 6 cent Can redemption with a condition of no outdoor storage, and another business permit was approved for Jensen Transport Service LLC. The board reviewed the rental property registration law draft, with a public hearing scheduled for the December meeting. The resignation of Bob Tiller from the Zoning Board was accepted, and Gerry Emborski was appointed to the Zoning Board. A water hearing for leak forgiveness was approved. The 2025-2026 Tax relevy for Cattaraugus County and Erie County was approved. An anonymous donation to the Police was accepted. The roller-skating attendant stipend was approved. Budget modification request #2 for General Fund Highway personnel to unemployment was approved, and the abstract bills were approved for payment.

The meeting included discussions on various topics such as a request for firework donation for Christmas, appointment of an Accounts Payable/Deputy Clerk, a NYSEG Letter of Intent to Purchase 10 Mill Street, Rental Property Registration Law, Business Permits, resignation and appointment of Zoning Board Members, tree discussion, water hearing leak forgiveness, Village Tax Relevy, acceptance of an anonymous donation, roller skating attendant stipend, Brownfield Opportunity Predevelopment & Marketing Agreement, NY Forward Contracting, CDBG Grant Site Visit, Budget Modification #2- General Fund, Finance Report, and Abstract Bills to Pay.

The Village of Gowanda Board of Trustees held a special meeting to consider two late event applications submitted by the Gowanda Neighborhood Watch for Scare fest. The board approved the Gowanda Neighborhood Watch event application for Music at Chang Hu Park and for Haunted Park at Creekside.
