Board of Levee Commissioners for the Yazoo-Mississippi Delta Regular Meeting

The Board of Levee Commissioners convened to establish tax rates for the 2026-2027 fiscal year. The Board officially set the ad valorem tax rate at 2.2 mills on the assessed valuation of real property, personal property, mobile homes, motor vehicles, and public utilities located within the Levee District. Additionally, the Privilege Tax Rate was established at 100% of the rate fixed by the State of Mississippi. The Board also issued a formal notice to county tax officials clarifying that industrial development exemptions granted by counties or municipalities do not apply to levee taxes.
