Smusd Technology Plan 2026-2027
The SMUSD Human-Centered Technology Plan establishes a framework for integrating technology with a primary focus on student learning and well-being. The plan outlines an adoption roadmap from 2026 to 2027, emphasizing intentional technology use guided by American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations, the development of an AI Literacy Framework, and the implementation of responsible use guidelines for generative AI tools. Key priorities include setting specific device usage policies for TK, elementary, and secondary levels, enhancing classroom and parental controls, and ensuring technology acquisition and utilization are regularly reviewed for educational efficacy, cost-effectiveness, and data privacy. The ultimate goal is to adopt a refreshed Strategic Promise with this framework embedded by June 30, 2027.
