The Council meeting included a work session and a regular meeting. Topics discussed included status of contingency funds, review of calendar reminders, and an executive session. Public hearings were held regarding the operating, capital, and debt service budgets for the upcoming fiscal year, as well as an ordinance amendment concerning park rules. The Council conducted second readings for budget and park rule ordinances, as well as an ordinance authorizing a fee in lieu of ad valorem taxes agreement. Consent items included the appointment of members to boards, allocation of contingency funds, and resolutions regarding the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant and a reimbursement agreement with the Public Defender. Citizens expressed concerns during the informal meeting regarding data centers, fire fee increases, noise, transmission lines, skate parks, and live streaming.

The Administrative Committee discussed and recommended for approval several resolutions, including an award of contract for furniture sales for the Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Center, a space lease for the SC Department of Public Safety, an appointment to the Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee, and the distribution of State Accommodations Tax Funds. Additionally, a resolution authorizing an agreement for software maintenance and support was tabled for further information. The committee also received a vacancy report.

The Board of Appeals reviewed several variance requests regarding zoning regulations. Key topics included requests for accessory structure square footage variances at 648 Pintail Drive, 1704 Huckleberry Drive, and 1080 Eve Street. Additionally, the Board considered a minimum lot size variance for a residential subdivision at 206 Larry Dee Street, as well as a request for height and building separation variances for a project on Whiskey Road.

The meeting was convened to facilitate a discussion regarding the upcoming fiscal year 2027 budget. The session also allowed for an executive session if necessary.

The committee discussed the implementation of burn bans in the county, resulting in a request for staff to draft relevant rules and procedures. A resolution to accept funding from the South Carolina Department of Public Health for DUI-related programs was recommended for approval. The committee also received and reviewed monthly reports regarding fire department runs, EMS status updates, and code enforcement activities.
