The Board of Regents is considering the 2025 Biennial Budget Recommendations, which include setting tuition and fees, allocating state appropriations, and distributing performance funding. Tuition adjustments include a proposed increase for resident undergraduate and graduate students, and non-resident tuition increases are expected to generate at least a 6% increase in tuition revenue. Mandatory fees should stay at or below 3%. The recommendations also cover the allocation of funds to address present law adjustments and to fund the state-supported side of the Pay Plan. Performance funding will be allocated based on performance metrics.

The Academic Affairs Playbook for 2025-2026 focuses on adapting the academic portfolio, increasing retention and persistence, and integrating curricular and co-curricular experiences. It aims to serve a wider range of learners, enhance research and creative scholarship, ensure fair workloads, and unify marketing and recruitment strategies. The playbook also prioritizes strengthening core infrastructure and processes to improve student outcomes and align with the university's strategic objectives.

The University of Montana's Institutional Assessment Plan focuses on five Priorities for Action (PFAs): student success, teaching and research excellence, embodying 'Mission First, People Always', community partnership, and promoting the UM story. The plan aims to enhance student retention, improve curriculum and pedagogy, foster a diverse and inclusive community, strengthen community engagement, and increase enrollment and alumni giving. Key strategies include enhancing first-year programming, expanding online learning, building communities of excellence, and promoting experiential learning opportunities.

The strategic plan for the School of Speech, Language, Hearing, & Occupational Sciences (SLHOS) focuses on enriching lives and communities through education, research, and service. Key priorities include placing student success at the center, driving excellence in teaching and research, embodying the principle of "Mission First, People Always," partnering with the community, and promoting the UM story. The plan aims to improve access to education and healthcare, support diversity and inclusivity, and foster interprofessional collaborations to address the needs of rural and underserved communities in Montana and the Mountain West region.
