Board of Visitors of George Mason University Annual Meeting
The board meeting covered several critical governance and strategic items. Key actions included the election of board officers and committee appointments, as well as the adoption of an electronic meeting policy. Members received updates on institutional performance and tactical presidential goals for the upcoming fiscal year. The board conducted orientation sessions on ethics and classified information access requirements, approved faculty appointments, and updated policies governing student-athlete name, image, and likeness rights. Furthermore, the board ratified the president’s employment agreement, performance goals, and compensation. A naming resolution for the School of Nursing was also approved following a closed session to discuss legal, personnel, and property matters.
