The board held an administrative hearing and a public hearing. The regular meeting included recognition of Thomas Kennedy for his work as President of the Florida School Board Association (FSBA) and Representative Ralph Massullo as FSBA's Friend of Education. The board approved instructional and support recommendations, and the position of Supervisor of Safe Schools. Additional discussion included school advisory council membership forms, a memorandum of understanding for EMT training, PBIS rewards, renewal of an agreement between Alachua County Title I Part C Migrant Program and CCSB, Testhound services, monthly school volunteers, purchase of International Baccalaureate exams, and several donations to schools and colleges. The board also discussed surplus property and budget amendments.
The meeting included the swearing-in of the Superintendent and School Board members. Nominations and elections were held for the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the School Board. The date and time for regular meetings were set, and the School Board Attorney was hired. There was also a welcome to the new School Board member.
