City Commission Work Session And Meeting

The commission reviewed the Youth Lens Photovoice project presented by the Mayor's Youth Council, which showcased community perspectives through photography. Approval was granted to bypass the formal bid process for the acquisition of 13 vehicles for various municipal departments. The session included discussions on conflict of interest disclosures for the 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) disaster relief project, as well as resolutions regarding grant submissions for the CDBG-DR and the Land and Water Conservation Fund. The latter fund supports the rehabilitation of the Greg Walker Sports Complex, including lighting, drainage, and entrance upgrades. Additionally, the commission approved a technical assistance agreement for the sports complex and authorized a grant submission with a local match for the construction of T-hangers at the municipal airport to address a waitlist for hangar space.
