Alaska Department Of Labor And Workforce Development Strategic Plan 2019-2024
The Alaska Apprenticeship Plan, developed by the Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development, serves as a roadmap to expand and diversify apprenticeship programs across the state. The plan is structured around four key strategies: building on the existing apprenticeship system, helping employers overcome apprenticeship challenges, expanding and enhancing apprenticeship, and developing state capacity to manage and expand apprenticeship. The vision is to create an apprenticeship system that cost-effectively meets employer labor needs, provides students and job seekers with career training, and strengthens the state's economy, with performance measures targeting significant increases in apprentices, employers, occupations, and diversity within the apprentice pool by 2024.
