Board of Commissioners of the City of Newport Regular Meeting
The Board of Commissioners discussed the appointment of five new Police Recruits. The consent agenda included the approval of several property assessment moratoriums for residential and commercial rehabilitation projects, as well as the declaration of surplus property for the Fire/EMS Department. Old business involved the second reading of an ordinance to close and vacate a portion of 11th Street. New business included the first reading of a budget amendment for the current fiscal year and the first reading of an ordinance to adopt the annual operating budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
