Preston County Schools Strategic Plan 2024-2026
The Preston County Schools Strategic Plan 24-25 focuses on four key goals: increasing student proficiency in English/Language Arts and Math by reaching annual proficiency targets by 2025-2026; increasing literacy proficiency among 3rd graders to 65% by May 2028 and achieving 65% reading proficiency in Kindergarten by May 2024; developing school focus plans for the 24-25 school year; and creating a safe and positive learning environment for all students. Strategies to achieve these goals include rigorous curriculum design, student-centered coaching, professional development, formative assessments, data analysis, classroom walkthroughs, science of reading professional development, multi-tiered systems of support, family engagement, and school safety plans.
