This five-year strategic plan for the Puyallup School District is designed to cultivate potential and empower achievement by setting a vision for excellence. It establishes a framework for academic excellence, fosters inclusive learning environments, and empowers educators and families to support high levels of student success. The plan's key priorities include Academic Achievement, Family and Community Engagement, Social-Emotional Supports, Staff Development, Culture, and Satisfaction, and Facilities, Safety, and Security. Its mission is to prepare and empower every student to reach their full potential and thrive in all aspects of life.

The board meeting covered several critical topics, including an update on the superintendent transition, analysis of legislative impacts on state funding and local budgetary gaps, and a discussion regarding potential legal action against the state for public education underfunding. The board reviewed a proposal for a Running Start Leadership Team and celebrated student athletic achievements. Public comments focused on staffing concerns, budget cuts, and class sizes. Additionally, the board held readings for several policies, including student electronic device use, student questioning procedures, and health-related accommodations, while also reviewing instructional material recommendations for social studies, history, music, and dual language programs.

The Board convened a Special Meeting which immediately recessed into a closed executive session. The purpose of the executive session was to evaluate the qualifications of applicants for public employment, conducted pursuant to RCW 42.30.110(1)(g). The meeting was adjourned following the executive session.
