This strategic plan for the Kansas Judicial Branch outlines a roadmap for a justice system that serves current and future generations of Kansans. It focuses on four key strategic areas: improving court operations and efficiencies, enhancing access to justice for court users, building public trust, confidence, and understanding, and fostering a strong workforce. The plan aims to provide accessible justice with integrity, excellence, innovation, and fairness.

Key decisions included implementing a funding cap to ensure accessibility for multiple agencies, reviewing the final draft solicitation and application, and establishing a process for application review. The application deadline was noted, and the process for distributing applications among committee members for review was determined.
The meeting included a review of the Kansas Open Meetings Act and an update on the fiscal year 2026 legislative allocation, noting adjustments to coordinator hiring and the reallocation of funding for court support. Additionally, plans for committee chair collaboration were discussed, and the committee reviewed the second draft of solicitation and application documents for fund distribution, with plans to present the drafts to the Rule 191 committee for feedback.
