The meeting recognized teacher signing day for high school seniors committed to education majors, student groups, and individual students for achievements in the National Beta Honor Society, all-state band, and all-state orchestra. New teachers and staff were introduced, with a special recognition for Carol Brooks for her work with new teachers. The financial report included updates on local accounts, certificates of deposit, food service accounts, the building program, local option sales tax, and revenue and expenditure reports. A preliminary presentation for next year's operating budget was also discussed.

The strategic plan for Anderson School District 1 for 2022-2023 through 2026-2027 focuses on student achievement, teacher/administrator quality, and school climate. Key goals include improving kindergarten readiness, increasing scores on SC Ready assessments for ELA and Math in grades 3-8, enhancing performance on PASS Science Assessments in grades 4 and 6, and boosting scores on EOCEP exams for English II, Algebra 1, Biology, and US History. The plan also aims to improve school-home relations and increase the number of minority students in Gifted and Talented programs and Advanced Placement courses. Strategies involve providing professional development, utilizing data-driven instruction, offering supplemental ESOL instruction, and implementing school-to-home communication systems.

The board meeting included the election of board officers (chair, vice-chair, secretary), the swearing-in of new board members, and recognition of new teachers and staff. Discussions covered the financial report, including investments and the status of building projects (Camp 502 and Concrete Primary renovations).
