Watertown School Committee Special Meeting Minutes
The committee addressed challenges regarding middle school student transportation registration for the upcoming school year. The discussion focused on a discovered inconsistency in policy application, where sixth-grade students were prioritized over seventh and eighth graders regardless of distance. To resolve these transportation needs, the committee voted to approve the addition of a second middle school bus at a net cost of $67,500. Future transportation program reviews and potential 'a la carte' service options were also introduced for consideration in upcoming budget cycles.
