Pcm Annual Meeting
The annual meeting addressed the severe restriction of activity and income due to historic challenges, leading the staff to creatively branch into new areas, including developing new programs that serve more children through expanded outreach. Key operational discussions included the proactive shift to digital programming, creating daily educational videos with themes like Maker Mondays and Fiction Fridays, and leading summer courses for public school students, some in Spanish. The organization also focused on community engagement through a virtual reading month featuring guest readers, and a partnership with Down City Design to create a future exhibit focused on creating a better world. Furthermore, the meeting covered the Families Together visitation program, which adapted to virtual meetings via Zoom before resuming in-person visits with strict safety protocols. Significant efforts were also made to enhance the digital presence, funded by a grant, which included redesigning the website for mobile compatibility and e-commerce, and refreshing the organization's brand identity with 18 unique logo designs reflecting the diversity and joy of play. New board members and an executive slate for 2021 were introduced and approved. Future plans include building partnerships, expanding a new mental health program working with trauma-informed partners, and preparing for the return of families to the building in July.
