The Council adopted a proposal to consolidate the management of the Alabama Law Institute, the Legislative Fiscal Office, and the Legislative Reference Service under a single interim director. A new policy was established regarding the cessation of compensatory time for employees of these offices, while ensuring existing balances are honored. Additionally, the Council assumed management and control of the Alabama State House from the Legislative Building Authority, initiating directives to negotiate a maintenance agreement with the Department of Finance and to formulate a long-term security plan.
