Region 10 Education Service Center Head Start/Early Head Start Community Assessment
This document is the 2024 Community Assessment for Region 10 Education Service Center Head Start/Early Head Start. Its primary purpose is to guide the program's long- and short-range goals, facilitate access to community services, and analyze service gaps to support family independence and self-sufficiency. The assessment identifies multifaceted needs including child food insecurity, prevalence of disabilities, homelessness, and employment barriers. Based on these findings, key recommendations include adjusting funded enrollment to support individualized instruction, retaining additional classroom support, promoting consistent attendance, enhancing health, wellness, and safety for children, families, and staff, ensuring effective transitions to kindergarten, and strengthening relationships with families and community partners to foster overall well-being and development.
