Nsls Induction Ceremony
The event marked the induction ceremony for new members into the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), the largest honor society in the nation. Discussions focused on the significance of this academic achievement, encouraging new members to feel pride and recognize that completing membership requirements is the first step in a larger journey. Key components of the NSLS program were outlined, including engaging in reflection, self-exploration, tools for action, and networking opportunities. A video presentation highlighted the benefits and the journey of past members. The ceremony also included the presentation of special awards: the Honorary Membership Award given to Interim VP Corey Major, the Excellence in Teaching Award presented to Dr. Derrick Wheatley, and the Excellence in Service to Students Awards given to Deborah Davis and Dr. Thomas Cole. A speaker encouraged inductees to continue their leadership development through advanced certifications or involvement in campus organizations, emphasizing that leadership is about serving others and making change, not holding a title or status.
