This document serves as an engagement summary for PlanKCK, a comprehensive plan designed to guide the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City towards prosperity over the next 25 years. The plan's strategic direction emphasizes fostering change and ensuring access to opportunities, including jobs, attainable housing, and reliable transportation. Key focus areas also include improving basic public services, bolstering arts, culture, and history, promoting urban agriculture and healthy food access, and addressing environmental remediation. The plan aims to support local businesses, revitalize downtown and urban cores, and ultimately create an equitable, livable, affordable, and vibrant community for all, focused on healing, regeneration, and improved health outcomes.

This document describes the PlanKCK Vision Summit, held in May 2023, as a pivotal 'long-range vision project' for Kansas City, Kansas. Facilitated by Future IQ, the summit aims to bring together community leaders and stakeholders to define possible futures, identify a preferred future, and articulate a clear vision, which will then inform a strategic plan for the city. It represents the first comprehensive long-range visioning effort for Kansas City, Kansas, emphasizing proactive community-led development to guide future investments and policies, address challenges, and capitalize on opportunities.

PlanKCK is a comprehensive plan designed to serve as a guiding "north star" for Wyandotte County, Kansas City, Kansas. Developed through an inclusive process involving staff, elected officials, and community stakeholders, it aims to align government efforts with community needs and foster a healthier community. Key areas addressed include transportation, housing, economic development, mental health support services, food systems, and environmental justice. The plan seeks to achieve both immediate "quick wins" and long-term structural changes, such as addressing systemic racism in land use and improving affordable housing, with the ultimate goal of enhancing the quality of life for all residents through shared vision and accountability.
