Board meetings and strategic plans from Kent Edney's organization
This Economic Development Strategy Framework for Chestermere outlines a plan to foster economic growth and diversification. It is structured around key priority areas including Business & Growth, Land & Infrastructure, Regional & Tourism, and Identity & Culture. The strategy details initiatives for business retention, investment attraction, optimizing land development, enhancing tourism and events, and strengthening the city's brand and identity. The overarching goal is to establish Chestermere as a regional service node and a 'Lakeside City for Business,' thereby creating jobs, diversifying the tax base, and enhancing the overall quality of life for its residents.
The Fire Facilities Master Plan for the City of Chestermere Fire Services establishes a long-term infrastructure strategy to address increasing demands due to significant growth. Key focus areas include a comprehensive assessment of current fire facility capacities, identification of system deficiencies, strategic growth planning for 25-year projections and full build-out scenarios, and a capital improvement roadmap. The plan aims to enhance system resiliency, optimize service delivery, and support planned development in alignment with the City's Offsite Levy Model.
This Framework for the City of Chestermere provides a shared foundation to guide decision-making and align partners in fostering belonging, well-being, and shared growth. It identifies four interconnected priority areas: Belonging and Inclusion, Safety and Resilience, Spaces that Strengthen Community, and Collaborating through Growth. The framework aims to support a community where residents feel safe, connected, and supported, enabling everyone to thrive.
The Chestermere Gateway Area Structure Plan (ASP) guides the development of a ±512 ha land area, comprising portions of Communities "A" and "B" and all of Community C, including the Town Centre along Chestermere Boulevard. It aims to refine broader policies, provide a framework for logical and sustainable community development, and guide subsequent Outline Plan and Land Use Amendment applications. The plan focuses on creating complete communities, a mixed-use activity center, interconnected roads, an integrated wetland complex, and an extensive pathway system to accommodate approximately 7,400 dwelling units and about 20,000 residents.
