Recognition was also given to local firefighters for their annual coat donation event. A farewell and congratulations were extended to the Director of Procurement on his retirement after 34 years of service. The board also addressed enrollment phase three, encouraging residents to return to LRSD schools. Public comments included a request for employee discounts on preschool fees, a successful resolution of an issue between a retired employee and a principal, concerns regarding a proposed plan for a new facility (Metacliff), and a plea for the implementation of a mandatory 7-minute rest period during student sports activities due to health and safety concerns.
