The discussion further covered the application of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA), the components of a BIP as a living document, and the utilization of supplementary aides, behavioral charts, and environmental modifications. Additionally, the committee discussed upcoming awards, including nomination processes and the scheduled ceremony.

The board discussed and unanimously approved the fiscal year 2027 budget, which included allocations for security upgrades, staff compensation, and various operational costs. The meeting addressed concerns regarding the school district's funding, the impact of state-mandated costs on the budget, and the strategic direction of the school system. Additionally, the board unanimously approved the 2027 AFSCME tentative agreement.

The meeting featured an overview of special education summer activities and events, including summer programs, youth employment, job clubs, and camps. Plans for a centralized Family Engagement website were reviewed to streamline parent resources. Additionally, the committee addressed budget constraints regarding event funding, explored strategies for increasing male involvement, and coordinated future communications via email and text to parents.
