The plan provides a framework to expand mobility and address evolving transportation challenges.

The Village of Mount Prospect's Strategic Plan outlines a long-term vision for 2040 and a strategic plan for 2025-2030. The 2040 vision describes Mount Prospect as a thriving, proud, diverse, and connected suburban community with a rich heritage, strong values, and resilient government. The plan's mission is to advance the community's collective quality of life through adaptive leadership and leading-edge service delivery. Key goals for 2030 include fostering effective, financially sound village government, creating safe and livable family-friendly neighborhoods, investing in top-quality village infrastructure, and developing vibrant community destinations across Downtown, Randhurst Village, and South Mount Prospect. The plan also emphasizes enhancing Mount Prospect's charm and character by honoring history, heritage, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The joint review board meeting included discussion of 2024 audited financials, surplus to be declared, return of increment historical data, TIF pro-forma, student impact fees, and development projects. Development projects included downtown mixed-use projects, Busse Flowers Redevelopment, Prospect Avenue District, Angelo Caputo's Fresh Market, Whiskey Hill Brewery, Salerno's Pizzeria, Lady Dahlia Mexican Kitchen, Mia's Cantina expansion, The Prospect, Khepri Kitchen + Coffee, CoCo & Maple, and Formula Auto. Also discussed were Lion's Memorial Park Renovations.

The Village Board meeting addressed concerns regarding a business named Tykables, particularly its location near homes and schools. Discussions included the moral and safety aspects, as well as potential impacts on property values. The board also addressed questions about the business's application, monitoring procedures, and the removal of a video promoting the store. There were suggestions for signage indicating an age restriction and window coverings to limit visibility into the store.

The meeting is to discuss proposed storm water improvements at Aspen Trails Park. The discussion included the history of flooding issues in the area, the development of Levy 37, and the limitations of the current pump system. The feasibility study identified the need for upgrades to the pump stations and additional storage. Storm water improvements, specifically detention improvements planned at Aspen Trails Park were discussed. The goal is to provide storm water relief for Pump Station 2 area by constructing a storm Water Management Facility at Aspen Trails Park.
