This strategic plan for the City of Reno is designed to create a community residents are proud to call home, envisioning a thriving urban center recognized for its world-class colleges, vibrant culture, diverse outdoor activities, and innovative industries. The plan prioritizes seven key areas, with a concentrated 36-month strategic focus on Fiscal Stewardship, Legal Obligations, Safe Community, Well-Maintained City Infrastructure, and Access to Natural Spaces. It also addresses Quality of Life and Government Effectiveness, aiming to strengthen foundational operations, enhance service delivery, and achieve long-term community outcomes.

The workshop focused on summarizing insights from the past few months and building consensus around Reno's strategic focus areas. Key discussion points included core service delivery, financial stewardship, regional collaboration, economic volatility, growth pressures, and the need for a shared framework to guide decisions and allocate resources. The plan prioritizes limited resources, aligns city operations with council policy, improves decision-making and accountability, and encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

The Reno City Council meeting discussed the annual assessment process for the Downtown Reno Business Improvement District (BID). The council addressed objections from the public hearing, confirmed the FY26 assessment roll and the estimated project cost. They also authorized the recordation of the assessed properties with the Washoe County Recorder. The council considered hardship applications, which could alter the total BID Assessment for FY26.
