Curriculum and Instruction Subcommittee Subcommittee Meeting
The subcommittee received a presentation on the implementation of Place-Based Education across K-12 schools, highlighting its integration into ELA, Math, STEM, Art, Music, Science, and History curricula, as well as collaborative efforts with the Suffield Historical Society and CT Landmarks for the upcoming 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Additionally, the subcommittee reviewed and finalized a formal timeline and process for new course proposals and textbook adoptions, and requested that high school administration provide an update on courses planned for the upcoming academic year based on student schedule selections.
