The Commission met to discuss several administrative and operational items. Key discussions included the introduction of a new director for the City County Health District, the purchase of new radio antennas and equipment for the Sheriff's Office, and extensive change orders for the HVAC installation process at the courthouse. Financing options for the HVAC system were explored with representatives from Bank Forward. The Commission also authorized the National Day of Prayer on the courthouse lawn and approved a grant application for designating the courthouse on the National Register of Historic Places. Additionally, updates were provided regarding county government week activities, camping regulations, and various operational needs across county departments.

The commission addressed several agenda items, including the swearing-in of newly elected commissioners and the renewal of a three-year contract for the Barnes County Ambulance, with a discussion on potentially increasing the mill levy. A zoning variance application was tabled for further legal research. The commission received construction progress updates for the Correctional Center and approved the selection of a construction engineer for the Kathryn Hillslide project. Additionally, the commission approved an approach application, confirmed various board appointments effective in 2021, and approved beer and liquor license renewals. Finally, various county employees were recognized with service awards for their tenure.
