Department Of Speech-Language Pathology Strategic Plan 2020-2025
This strategic plan aims to advance Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (EDI), and Justice within Speech-Language Pathology Training, motivated by a report on racism in Quebec's training environments. The plan outlines three core objectives: developing and offering EDI training, including unconscious bias; conducting an internal audit of departmental regulations, policies, and educational materials using the Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Benchmarks to eliminate racial stereotypes; and surveying the student community about experiences of discrimination and micro-aggressions. The overarching goal is to establish a clear diagnosis, foster ongoing reflection and dialogue, and implement concrete actions to create a more inclusive, safe, and equitable speech therapy department for all.
