Cobb County Board of Zoning Appeals Special Called Appeal Hearing
The Board convened to conduct a special called appeal hearing regarding two cases, focusing on a property owner's challenge to a code enforcement notice of violation. The dispute centered on the interpretation of local weed control ordinances, specifically concerning vegetation height limits. The property owner contended that the vegetation, including clover and sunflowers, was intentionally maintained for environmental and pollinator benefits rather than being considered weeds. Code Enforcement representatives presented photographic evidence and testimony arguing that the property exceeded the permitted 12-inch height limit in violation of county code section 8312, and requested that the Board uphold the notice of violation.
