Additionally, the board discussed recent Farmers Market applications, explored plans for a three-day indoor Christmas Market with potential vendor fees, decided to order additional branded Go Cups, and considered hosting an October First Friday event for a Small Town Halloween celebration.

The council meeting addressed several key topics, including a successful CDBG grant application for infrastructure improvements in the Crosstown area. There was an in-depth discussion regarding parking enforcement in an alleyway, which concluded with a commitment to enforce existing city ordinances. A public hearing was held to discuss the rezoning of 310 E. Third St. from commercial-institutional to community-commercial, which was subsequently approved with conditions. The council also adopted a resolution recognizing Georgia Cities Week and passed an ordinance regarding an advanced metering infrastructure opt-out program. An executive session was conducted to address litigation, personnel, and real estate matters.
