The board met to discuss and ratify the declaration of a local disaster emergency regarding the Willow fire. The ratification was required to allow the county to access and recoup disaster-related expenditures through state and federal resources.

The board also ratified and confirmed the imposition of stage two fire restrictions within the county. Finally, the board discussed Resolution 2026-29, which proposes adopting a master deed restriction for affordable housing units to align them with community housing guidelines, clarifying enforcement authority and defining qualified ownership requirements.

The Board of Commissioners discussed and considered two resolutions. The first was a resolution requesting the General Assembly to reclassify the county for the purposes of county officer salary categorization. The second was a resolution authorizing a temporary alternative fire safety compliance method for short-term rentals due to a vacancy in the fire safety marshal position. Both resolutions were approved by the Board.
