State Of Illinois Workforce Plan 2019-2026
This document outlines the strategic efforts to strengthen the State of Illinois workforce through reform, recruitment, and results, covering the period from 2019 to 2026. Key strategic areas include the overhaul and streamlining of the hiring process from 400 steps to 12, the implementation of extensive and targeted recruitment infrastructure and campaigns (such as fully online applications, regional career centers, diversity and inclusion initiatives, intern-to-hire programs, and disabled workers training), and fostering significant workforce growth and diversity. The plan aims to achieve a more efficient, diverse, and fully staffed state workforce by reducing hiring cycle times, cutting vacancy rates, and increasing overall employment levels, with outcomes reported up to January 2026.
