Planning Commission Regular Session
The Planning Commission held a public hearing regarding a setback variance request for a landlocked property located at 403 Southeast Harbor Crescent Drive. The Commission discussed the unique challenges of the property, which lacks street frontage and is split-zoned, making the application of standard setback definitions difficult. The applicant offered to adjust the proposed building footprint to increase the rear yard setback, potentially reclassifying the request from a variance to an adjustment. Key concerns raised by neighbors and addressed during the hearing included stormwater drainage, privacy, construction access, and the potential impact of building size on the neighborhood. The Commission did not render a final decision, noting that the record would be left open for additional testimony and the application might be re-noticed.
