City Of Mebane Council Meeting October 2024
The council meeting included a moment of silence for victims of recent devastating weather events. Chuck Smith, Public Works director, was recognized for his election as a director of the North American Public Works Association. The consent agenda, including minutes approval and various ordinances, was approved. A public hearing addressed an amendment to a special use permit for a daycare center, increasing its capacity from 12 to 30 children. Another public hearing involved an ordinance to extend corporate limits through a voluntary non-contiguous annexation. A rezoning request was made for a nearly 16-acre parcel to allow for the development of a K-30A charter school.
