Mount Vernon City School District District Comprehensive Improvement Plan 2024-2025
The 2024-25 District Comprehensive Improvement Plan (DCIP) for the Mount Vernon City School District focuses on three main priorities: 1. Research-Based Instructional Practices: Implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) to provide targeted academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to all students through data-driven instruction, standards-based curriculum development, and tiered interventions. 2. Social Emotional Learning & School Climate and Culture: Strengthening relationships, social-emotional well-being, and inclusivity through the CASEL framework, redefined PBIS expectations, and a mentoring program. 3. School and Community Engagement: Re-establishing trust and fostering consistent parental engagement through effective communication, relationship building, parental involvement in decision-making, and addressing safety and well-being concerns. The plan aims to improve student growth, performance on assessments, attendance rates, and decrease suspensions and chronic absenteeism.
