City of Guelph Goods Movement Strategy
The City of Guelph's Goods Movement Strategy aims to define the freight network, identify major trends and challenges, and propose recommendations to facilitate the safe, efficient, and sustainable movement of raw materials and finished products for its industries and businesses, connecting them to regional and North American freight systems. The strategy proposes a strategic action plan organized under nine directions, with five top priorities: advocating for highway infrastructure upgrades, optimizing traffic flow, implementing curbside management in downtown areas, proactive planning for warehouse and distribution center growth, and safeguarding the Guelph Junction Railway and associated industrial lands. The overall goal is to ensure efficient goods movement and support future economic growth.
