West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey Plan for Geologic Mapping 2016
The Plan for Geologic Mapping in West Virginia focuses on mapping the bedrock geology of the entire state at a 1:24,000 scale using modern base maps. Priorities include State and National Parks, Wildlife Management Areas, urban development and existing highway corridors, rural development, new, proposed major utility, pipeline, or transportation corridors, mine subsidence and inactive mining, slope failure and mass wasting and potential karst.
