City of Stillwater Master Plan
This Master Plan outlines the future development and vegetation management for North Aiple Park, located on the St. Croix River. Guided by an approved concept plan and adhering to a conservation easement, the plan integrates community input to address site needs and improvements. Key development recommendations include establishing ADA-accessible kayak/canoe launches, rehabilitating existing structures into public facilities like picnic shelters and an outdoor recreation building, and creating accessible and natural surface trails. Additional amenities such as picnic areas, benches, overlooks, and expanded parking are also planned. The vegetation management strategy focuses on controlling invasive species, enhancing and restoring native vegetation, protecting sensitive groundwater seep wetlands, assessing existing bank stabilization practices, highlighting natural resource values, and evaluating the feasibility of a public trout pond. The overall objective is to enhance passive riverfront recreation opportunities while preserving the site's natural beauty.
